It lingers in the scent of lemons in the courtyards, in the sound of footsteps along the old stone streets, in the light that dances on the sea at sunset. And sometimes, the most beautiful way to keep a memory of it is to bring home something made here — something real.
In the heart of Amalfi, a few steps from Apartments Il Gatto Franco, there is a story that has been shaped by time, family, and the sea.
It began in 1940, when our great-grandfather, Alfonso Mostacciuolo, opened a small shop in the centre of town. With skilled hands and a natural sense for beauty, he created handmade pieces inspired by the coast that surrounded him.
Years later, in 1960, our mother — only fifteen years old — began her apprenticeship in that same shop, learning the craft day by day, season after season.
Those were the golden years of Amalfi.
The 60s and 70s, when the world was falling in love with this coastline, and our father would always say: “It was a dream time… Amalfi was more beautiful than ever.” It was then that the workshop grew, and the handmade creations started travelling far beyond the town’s narrow streets.
Today, that story continues with us — Annalisa and Andrea.
We carry it forward with one eye on the future, and the other firmly rooted in the past, because to understand where you are going, you must never forget where you come from.
Our jewels are not simply souvenirs.
They are small fragments of Amalfi — shaped by the sea, inspired by its colours, and created with the same care that has lived in our family for generations.
A piece to wear, to keep, and to remember.Because the most precious things you take from a journey are the ones that still make you feel like you are there.
We will be happy to suggest the best artisan shops in Amalfi and help you discover the most authentic souvenirs, just a few minutes from the apartment.
